Rosary and Funeral Mass for Adelia Marie Ortiz 75 of Milan, New Mexico will be held on Tuesday-April 18, 2017-9:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
Adelia was born on May 1, 1941 to Jose and Emilia Esquibel in San Jose, New Mexico she was the youngest of four children and she passed away on April 14, 2017 in Milan, New Mexico.
She had two older sisters Amby Ortiz and Ermie Salazar and one brother Lalo Esquibel. On April 25, 1959 she married the love of her life, Roman Ortiz. They were blessed with five children, Brenda, Carol, Tim, Rodney and Ericka. The moved to Grants, NM in late 1959, to work in the Uranium Mines.
Adelia was a housewife and raised their five children and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles, cooking, and being in the great outdoors and loved to see wildlife.
She had 8 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren whom she loved with all her heart. She worked as a home Health Care Provider, she was a passionate and strong willed.
Adelia placed a high value on close family ethics and considered it the greatest blessing to watch her family grow and prosper throughout the years. She would fondly reflect on all the memories made with he family and would look forward to future get togethers. Each child of Adelia shared special moments with their mother that they would cherish dailey.
Adelia had expressed that rather than mourn for her she wanted all to rejoice for the good life her and her husband enjoyed over the years with their family. She wanted all her loved ones to live life to the fullest and enjoy every moment just as she had done. The family will always remember Adelia for the wonderful person she was and cherish every memory made with her. Although things will never be the same without her they will continue to lead good lives and make more memories in order to honor her wishes and memory.
She is survive by her Loving Husband of 58 years: Roman Ortiz; Children: Brenda Urioste and husband Martin, Carol Morin and companion Chris Gonzales, Rodney Ortiz and wife Leesa, and Ericka Trujillo and companion Carlos Vallejos; 8 Grandchildren: Verneal Morin, David Tafoya Chris Ortiz, Timothy Ortiz, Andrew Ortiz, Derek Trujillo, Angeline Urioste, Isaiah Urioste and Antoniette Tietz; 7 Great Grandchildren: Alexis Mirabal, Alize Montano, Asua Tafoya, Autumn Tafoya, Sofia Tafoya, Kristiana Ortiz, Jacob Ortiz, Nathaniel Espinoza and Jordan Aguilar as well as her Loving Sisters: Amby Ortiz and Ermy Salazar,
She is preceded in death by her Son: Tim Ortiz; Parents: Jose Esquibel and Emilia Ulibarri Esquibel: Brother-in-law: Pilar Ortiz; Brther: Lalo Esquibel.
Pallbearers will be: Martin Urioste, David Tafoya, Christopher Ortiz, Andrew Ortiz, TJ Ortiz and Derek Trujillo.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Chris Gonzales, Carlos Vallejos, Gerald Ortiz, Lenny Montoya, Kenny Medina.
