Brian Yazzie, born on September 10, 1999, in Acoma, New Mexico, passed away on March 19, 2026. Throughout his life, Brian was known for his dedication to various odd jobs and yard work, reflecting a willingness to lend a hand when needed.
Brian graduated from high school and furthered his skills by completing a course in welding, which underscored his commitment to personal growth and practical knowledge. Beyond his professional endeavors, Brian was a person who cherished simple joys and meaningful connections.
He had a passion for cooking, especially tacos, a favorite he is lovingly remembered for and where his humor and laughter brought warmth and happiness to those around him. Music was a constant companion in Brian’s life; he was often found immersed in his favorite tunes, which provided comfort and inspiration. He also enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the Raiders, and took great pleasure in being surrounded by family.
Brian is survived by his father, Autry W. Yazzie; his brothers and sisters—Tonya Garcia, Melinda Garcia, Vanessa Garcia, Tracy Garcia, and Brandon Yazzie; as well as two nieces and three nephews who will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
A memorial service to honor Brian’s life will be held on April 2, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Mt. Taylor Funerals & Cremations / Compassion Mortuary, located at 120 3rd St, Grants, New Mexico. Following the service, a burial will take place at the Family Plot on Family Land in Prewitt, New Mexico, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.
Brian Yazzie’s life was one marked by laughter, family devotion, and the quiet strength of everyday perseverance. He will be remembered for the joy he brought to those around him and the enduring bonds he created through love and humor.
