Charles Lancaster

January 26, 1928 — March 28, 2015

Funeral Services for Charles Marion "Pepsi" Lancaster 87 of Milan, New Mexico will be held on Thursday-April 2, 2015 at the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Grants, New Mexico. Viewing will start at 9:30 AM till 10:30 AM and the Funeral will start at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Pioneer Memorial Cemetery in Bluewater, New Mexico.



Charles was born on January 26, 1928 in Bluewater, New Mexico and he passed away after a long illness surrounded y the caring staff of Legacy Nursing Company and his nephew William Campbell.



He served in the US Army during World War II in Yokohaman, Japan. He was a Chaplin for many years with the American Legion Post 60. He worked for 25 years for Homestake and retired as a Uranium Miner.. He then went to work for the Forest Service as a Ranger where he was Smokey the Bear which entertained several Children. He retired when he was 75 years old. He held his Priesthood for many years with the Church of Jesus Christ of Ladder-day Saints. He had a very strong faith.



He is survived by his brother: Ralph Lancaster of Snowflake, Arizona; Nephew: William Campbell of Milan, New Mexico and niece Zenoba Campbell of Grants, New Mexico.



He is preceded in death by his Parents, wife and nephew Dave Campbell.



Pallbearers will be: Steve Mayne, Thomas Wilson, Nate Smith, William Burke, Bishop Griner and Richard McNiel.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Christopher Baca, George McNeil and Billy Wilson.
