Cirilio Paul Leyba, affectionately known as "Paul," was born on April 24, 1973, in Grants, New Mexico. He passed away on December 15, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, leaving behind a legacy of joy and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Paul dedicated his career to being a plumber and a tire service technician, roles through which he demonstrated his unwavering commitment to helping others in his community. His proudest accomplishment was always being there to lend a hand, regardless of the need. Paul’s infectious energy and his happiness radiated in every interaction—he was known for his bright smile and his genuine desire to make people laugh.
In his younger years, Paul's spirit of determination shone through as he pursued boxing in San Rafael, New Mexico. His love for adventure extended to his hobbies, where he found great joy in camping, fishing, and spending time in the mountains. He was an avid fan of the Denver Broncos, always ready to cheer for his team. Paul had a special love for lowrider cars and trucks, reflecting his vibrant personality.
Paul's life was enriched by the love of his family. He is survived by his children Jamason (Sawsha) Leyba, Jacob Leyba, Aviana Leyba, Reuben Zaragoza, Alyssa (J.P.) Zaragoza, and Isabel (Juan) Sosa. He was the proud grandfather of Jamason Jr., Amalle, Aviana, Jaysion, Joel, Mia, Christopher, Angela, Ella, Alianna, Joshua, and Geovonni. Paul is also remembered by his sisters, Louise (Joey) Franco and Jolene (Rodney) Gonzales, as well as his nieces Regina (Pamela) Barajas and Mariah (Gio) Olguin, and nephew Shane (Lauren) Gonzales.
Paul was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Leyba, and two grandsons, Xavier and Everett Leyba as well as the mother of his children, Angela Munoz.
As we look back on the time spent with Paul, we will forever treasure the memories shared. His vibrant spirit and huge heart have left a significant mark on those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed, leaving behind a legacy of love that continues in the hearts of his family. Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted (Matthew 5:4). We love you so much, Paul.
