Funeral Mass for Danny Leroy Maldonado 59 of Bluewater Village, New Mexico will be held on Friday-September 1, 2017-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Family Ranch in Bluewater Village, New Mexico.
Visitation will be held on Friday-September 1, 2017 from 9:00 AM till 9:45AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Danny away unexpectedly on August 22, 2017 in Rio Rancho. Danny was born on March 14, 1958 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was raised in Los Angeles, California, but lived the last 22 years in Bluewater Village, NM. As a child, he spent most summers with in Seboyeta, NM working on his grandparents' ranch. He was the owner of Mesa Floor Covering in Grants. He was also a Veteran of the US Army.
Known to many as "Uncle Danny", he was a generous and outgoing man who enjoyed working on the family ranch in Bluewater Village, deep sea fishing, the casinos, and traveling.
He is survived by his son, Daniel, also of Bluewater Village, NM; Mother, Helen Maldonado of Bluewater Village, NM: Brother, Steve (Cindy) Maldonado of Grants, NM, their children, Mitchell (Lindsay) of Boise, Idaho; Catherine Maldonado of Boise, Idaho; and Stephanie Maldonado of Portland, Oregon: Sister, Diana Palacios of Albuquerque, NM, and her son Alfredo (Chantelle) of Albuquerque, NM. Also surviving is his lifelong friend, Damien Smith of Hawthorne, California and his children, Heather and Katie.
He is also survived by his extended family, Bobby and Julia Torrez of Albuquerque, NM and Cornel and Linda Heitzman of Albuquerque, NM. He was preceded in death by his father, Steven Maldonado of Bluewater Village, NM; his grandparents, Fred and Kate Gonzales of Seboyeta, NM, and grandmother Jesusita Maldonado of Lawndale, California.
Pallbearers will be: Cornel Heitzman, Reggie Hudson, Mitchell Maldonado, Alfredo Palacios, Damien Smith and Bobby Torrez.
