David Eugene McCully

David Eugene McCully, N5IIB, 61, passed away Monday, June 10^th, 2024, after a decades-long battle with chronic illness. He was born in Hawaii, and has lived in New Mexico for most of his life. He graduated from Des Moines, NM, High School in 1980. He served a mission for the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Taiwan, and graduated from UNM in ‘91 with his bachelor’s in education. He enjoyed teaching, math, science, amateur “ham” radio, but music most of all. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and teacher, a friend to all. He was preceeded in death by his parents Dorothy (Brown) Bass and Randall McCully, and stepfather Bill Bass, his wife of 31 years, Pearl, and aunt Irene Brown. He is survived by one son, two sisters, several half-siblings and in-laws, and nieces and nephews. His favorite saying; “Don’t despair, Have a prayer, Be fair to your neighbor, Breathe the good air!”

Services will be held at The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints In Grants, New Mexico Saturday June 15,2024 1PM. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery In Albuquerque, New Mexico Tuesday June 18th, 2024 3PM.
