It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Donald Dean McCoy, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Donald passed away on January 1, 2026, in Grants, New Mexico, at the age of 67. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Kermit and Patricia McCoy as well as his friend Jane Gonzales.
Donald worked as a truck driver for the family-owned business, McCoy Trucking, where his strong work ethic and dedication were well known. He was a natural tinkerer who loved fixing things and could seemingly repair anything. One of his most recent creations was cleverly turning a nose hair trimmer into a coffee frother - a perfect example of his ingenuity and humor.
Above all else, Donald's greatest passion was his unwavering love for his family. He is survived by his daughters, Tiffany Grace McCoy, Nicole Wilson, Melina Damirian and Brooke Power. He found immense joy in his grandchildren, KolbieLynne, KelceeMae, Wilson Dean and Bailey, who brought him endless pride and happiness. Donald was also dearly loved by his sisters, Gail A. Jones and Laura J. Council.
Donald was cherished by many friends who will miss him deeply, including Tony and Tammy Boyd, and Greg Gonzales, among many others.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Fred Rodarte, will be held on January 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cow Palace, located at 223 Betty Drive, Grants, New Mexico.
