Doris Chavez

Doris Chavez, resident of Bluewater, New Mexico, was sadly taken from us to be with our Lord on October 11, 2025, at age 68. Born August 8, 1957, in New Mexico to Juanito B. Chavez and Eremita Chavez, she grew up in La Jara and Cuba, New Mexico.

Doris was the beloved wife of Fernando Cortez. She is survived by her children, Johnny Chavez with wife Martha and Cruz Harrington; grandchildren, Cruzito, True, Josh, Shawna, Amity, Johnny Jr, and Devin; seven great-grandchildren, Willamina, Anara, Cruzito, Elena, Lillianna, Milo, and Amaya. She is also survived by her siblings, Christine Swick husband Mike, Claudine Montoya partner Danny, Larry Chavez wife Dorlores, and Wilma Cordova and husband Ivan.

She is preceded in death by her parents Juanito B Chavez, Eremita Chavez and brother, Jerome Chavez.

Doris loved Butterflies and collected anything with butterflies, Doris loved listening to oldies and spending time with familia. She loved all her nieces and nephews and will be missed by all her familia.
