Funeral Mass for Dustin Baca, 27, of Grants, New Mexico will be held Wednesday-August 29, 2007-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park.
A Rosary will be receited Tuesday-August 28, 2007-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Deacon Ed Olona will be the celebrant.
Dustin was born on June 2, 1980 in Grants, New Mexico and passed away on August 25, 2007 in Grants, New Mexico. He was employed as a Teacher at the Grants High School.
He was raised here and graduated from Grants High School in 1998. He attended Highlands University in Las Vegas, New Mexico and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, Majoring in Education in 2003. He taught his first year of school in Belen before taking a teaching position a the Thoreau High School for 1 year. Dustin was in his second year of teaching at his Alma Matre Grants High School. He had just accepted the position of Head Wrestling Coach at the Grants High and was an assistant Football coach at Los Alamitos. Dustin was also looking forward to coaching track in the spring.
He is survived by his parents: Joseph and Barbara Baca of Milan, New Mexico; Brother: Derrick Baca of Dallas, Texas; Sister: Desiree Baca of Milan, New Mexico; Grandmothers: Marilyn Mattila of Grants, New Mexico and Lolia Baca of Albuquerque, New Mexico; many Uncles, Aunts, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Grandfathers; Pete Baca and Jalmer Ray Matilla.
Pallbearers will be: Derrick Baca, Eugene Moleres, Gerald Fuell, Joshua Baca, Dominic Moleres, C.J. Baca, Zach Gutierrez, Arika Fuell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Justin Mattila, Jordan Mattila, Jeremy Baca, Matt Sanchez.
