Rosary for Elias Savedra 96, of San Rafael, New Mexico will be held on Friday-June 6, 2014-7:00 PM at the San Rafael Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday-June 7, 2014-10:00 AM at the San Rafael Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221 will follow at the San Rafael Community Cemetery.
He was born on March 20, 1918 in San Rafael, New Mexico and he passed away on June 4, 2014 in San Rafael, New Mexico. Elias was the Last Surviving Member of the Baton Death March from Cibola County and was a Veteran of the US Army during World War II.
He is survived by his Son: Alfred Saavedra and wife Lorraine of San Rafael, New Mexico; Brother: Teofilo Saavedra and Wife Lillian of Grants, New Mexico; 6 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his Loving Wife: Rose Savedra; Sons: Johnny Savedra and Louie Savedra; Father: Alfredo Savedra; Mother: Manuelita Maestas Savedra; Sisters: Francis Silva, Reyes Baca, Rita Diaz, and Dolores Padilla; Brothers: Gilbert Savedra and Paul Savedra.
Pallbearers will be: Tyra Saavedra, Ron Saavedra, Brandon Sandoval, Jada Saavedra, Martin Jaramillo, Marlene Guzman, Melissa Saavedra.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: All of his Nieces, Nephews and Veterans Members.
