GRANTS

Felix Arguello, a devoted family man and steadfast pillar of his community, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, in Grants, New Mexico. Born on August 11, 1939, in Chamisal, NM, Felix lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, and a deep commitment to those he loved.

Felix’s journey began in the heart of Northern New Mexico. He attended school through the 10th grade at the Penasco School District, where he laid the foundation for a life rich in practical skill and unwavering dedication. A self-taught mechanic, Felix was a handyman not only for his congregation but also for anyone who needed a helping hand. His work as a miner for Ker McGee and as a custodian for Milan Elementary School reflected his tireless work ethic and willingness to serve others.

The essence of Felix’s spirit came alive in the simplest joys—fishing at Bluewater Lake and camping amidst the serene beauty of northern New Mexico. These moments of peace were complemented by cherished times visiting with family at their parents' home in Arenas Valley and Ojito, places steeped in the warmth of shared memories and unbreakable bonds.

Felix’s caring nature extended far beyond his occupation. He was a constant source of support for friends, relatives, and members of his congregation, offering help whenever it was needed. His hands-built homes and hopes, and his heart-built connections that endured through every season of life.

Felix was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Eluid and Elizaida Arguello; his brothers Elfido, Joe, and Eluid Jr. Arguello; and his sister Dora Garcia. Though their absence leaves a quiet ache, his memory carries their spirit forward.

He leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor his legacy: his devoted wife Maria Rosella Arguello; daughters Jane Arguello, Abigail Lopez, and Dori Miller; sisters Eloisa Vasquez and Sofie Arana; and brothers John Arguello and Allen Arguello. Among them, Felix’s spirit lives on—strong, compassionate, and ever-present.

As we remember Felix Arguello, we celebrate a life lived with humility and heart. His love for family, dedication to service, and gentle guidance touched countless lives and created memories that will forever be treasured. In the quiet strength of his deeds and the laughter of his family, Felix’s presence will remain a comforting light for all who knew him.
