It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dearly beloved Filemon Vigil.
Dad was a man of great integrity and will be dearly missed He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother, and son. He was born in Pecos NM to Antonio Doroteo and Guadalupe Vigil in 1932.
Filemon never knew a stranger and made friends easily. He was a devout Catholic and lived his life accordingly. He once said that his greatest accomplishments were his family and helping young boys in the boy scouts and boys club to become good men. Filemon worked all his life and taught his children that nothing in life is handed to you. You have to work hard and when you can, work smarter not harder. He said, "Life is about choices – you can choose to live sad or be happy to do the right thing or pay the consequences." He said, "Be strong in your faith and in your convictions, God can get you through all your troubles and bless you in your good times."
Filemon is survived by his daughters: Roberta & husband Greg, and Luanna; and his son: Fil Jr.; He is also survived by sister Gloria, beloved grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Dolores who called him home on her birthday April 10th; his daughter Alicia, his granddaughter Andrea and grandson Xavier, his parents Antonio and Guadalupe; brothers: Bartolo, Mauro, and Thomas; sisters: Inez, Rose, Josephine, and Nicolasa.
Special thanks to Roots Inc., Kim and all of her wonderful staff, our nurses-David Moser and Stephanie Smith who have become like family.
We wish we could see the angels faces when they hear his sweet voice sing. Services to be held at St Theresa’s on Friday the 24th of April. The rosary begins at 10 AM with mass to follow.
