Franklin R. Hilliard, Jr. 59 of Grants, New Mexico. Due to current social distancing/stay at home requirements, the family will welcome family and friends with a drive-thru wake, where people can come and celebrate his life with us on Monday-May 18, 2020 from 10:30 AM till 5:00PM at the family home 828 Jefferson. Franklin R. Hilliard, Jr. was born in Grants, New Mexico on December 12, 1960 and he passed way on May 13, 2020.
Franklin was a graduate of Grants High School, class of 1978. While in high school, he participated in pole vaulting, tack and football. He place second in the State Wrestling Championship. Franklin proudly served in the Army, and was honorably discharged in 1981. He was a talented artist, enjoying drawing and painting, He loved fishing and the outdoors, and he did yard work for several Grants families over the years. He worked many years at the family business, Auto Clinic, and at Voight's Shell. Franklin loved watching sunrises and sunsets, and he truly enjoyed surprising people.
Franklin was a believer in Christ, he was saved, and we rejoice to know we will see him again soon.
He is survived by his Father: Franklin R. Hilliard, Sr.; Sisters: Sylvia Cargill, W. Pearl (husband Keith) Bridgeman, Lydia (husband Greg Sutherlin; Brother: Keith (wife Diane) Hilliard; Son: Tonyaa Hilliard; His beloved Aunts: Willie Mae Mitchell and Bessie Mae Moseley and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his Mother: Jessie M. Hilliard.
