Almost as We Come, We Go Away

Freeman Gayle Lusk, 76, came into this world December 31, 1947 through the high
mountains of West Virginia. He passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024. 
Freeman is proceeded in death by his parents, Nathan Lusk and Lola Squires. 
He is survived by his wife, Marianne Lusk of Grants, New Mexico.
Two daughters, Linda Lusk Blakey, son-in-law, William L Blakey.
Grandson, Anthony Lusk of Grants, New Mexico.
Brandy Millhouse, son-in-law Bernard Millhouse of High Rolls, New Mexico.
Grandchildren, Christopher Smith and wife Alizabeth Smith of Portales, New Mexico.
Samantha Johnson and husband Mike Johnson of Tularosa, New Mexico.
Wyatt Skelton and wife Jackie Skelton of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
Tyler Skelton and Waylon Skelton of High Rolls, New Mexico.
He also has eight great grandchildren.

Brother Gary Pearson and wife Shannon Pearson.
Freeman joined the United States Army in 1966 serving four years. He met and married his
wife, Marianne Ullmann in Boblingen, Germany. After their first child was born, they
crossed the Atlantic to Jacksonville, Florida for a brief stay. They ultimately ended up in
Grants, New Mexico. This is where he was employed with the Anaconda Uranium Mine as
an underground mechanic. He decided to venture out and explore the art of trapping for
many years. He moved on from trapping and with his life partner, opened New Mexico
Recycling in Milan, New Mexico. Forty years later, the business is still thriving. To add
more suspense in Freeman’s life, they decided to open Indian Trails trading Post located in
Grants, New Mexico. A business operating on twenty-seven years. Freeman was a staple
in the community, loved his family, gave generously, and we will forever miss him dearly.
Rest in Peace father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, friend and Veteran!
Services are held at the Grace Baptist Church, 717 Victor Avenue, Milan, New Mexico,
Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1100.
