Obituary

James Olguin

May 19, 1979 – June 27, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Olguin, a beloved partner, father, grandfather, brother, nephew and friend, who left us too soon on June 27, 2026. Born in Farmington, NM on May 19, 1979, James was a beacon of laughter and light. He was known for his infectious smile and ability to make those around him laugh. He was always willing to lend a helping hand when others were in need.

James was the cherished son of the late Jimmy and Ruth Olguin, and he was preceded in death by his sister, Valerie Olguin, his cousin Linda Rodriguez, and his grandchild, baby Otero. He carried the memory of his family in his heart and is now reunited with them in the eternal embrace of our Lord Jesus.

He is survived by his devoted partner, Brandi Vigil, and his ex-spouse, Anna Falcomata, with whom he shared the joy of raising their wonderful children: Angelina, Selina, Liliana, James, Gabriella, Jude, and Josiah Olguin. James was a proud grandfather to Aubreyana, Adonis, and Brailynn Otero, who brought immense joy into his life. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Pearl Olguin, Audrey Olguin and her partner Mario Garcia, and his nephews, Jeremy Silva and Andrew Murillo, and his cherished goddaughter, Izabella Murillo as well as aunties, uncles and many cousins.

After receiving his certifications from NMSU, James utilized his skillsets in carpentry, maintenance, plumbing and mechanics. He also went on to touch the lives of many as a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served with great commitment for many years. His good nature and storytelling ability made him a favorite among his peers, and he was always the life of any gathering, whether with family or friends. James's greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he treasured every moment spent with them.

A service to celebrate James's life will be held on July 31, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church, located at 213 Smith St, Grants, NM 87020. A reception will follow mass at 12pm at the Knights of Columbus, located at 1601 E Roosevelt Ave, Grants, NM 87020. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in remembering and honoring the beautiful life he lived.

James's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time. Your presence and love have brought comfort and solace to those who mourn his loss. As his family and friends gather to share cherished memories, we remember James as a man who will forever be in our hearts.

Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this time of sorrow. Your compassion has been a source of strength for James's family as they navigate through his difficult time.
