It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Jane Valencia, who left this world on the 9th of July 2025, at her home in Grants, New Mexico, in the embrace of her beloved family. Born on the 22nd of September 1940 in the quaint village of Villanueva, New Mexico, Jane’s life was a testament to her deep love for God, her family, and her unwavering commitment to goodwill.

Jane spent her formative years toiling on the family farm, where she learned the values of hard work and dedication. Her parents, Arturo and Cinda Madrid, instilled within her a strong foundation of faith and resilience, qualities that would define her life and shape her relationships. The untimely passing of her father when she was but a teenager marked a pivotal transition, leading the family to humble beginnings in Grants, where Jane would blossom into the remarkable woman many have come to love and respect.

To her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jane was not only a grandmother but a beacon of warmth and love, filling every gathering with her radiant smiles and infectious gratitude. Her sons, Christopher Smith (Nizohonie), James Smith, and Jason Valencia (Charlene), will forever cherish the memories of her unwavering support, knowing that each moment spent with her was a gift beyond measure. Jane's siblings, Helen Binard and Paul Leonard Madrid, carry forth her legacy, enriched by her kindness and the lessons imparted through their shared experiences.

An avid baker, Jane was famed for her homemade bread, a culinary treasure that brought comfort and joy to those fortunate enough to taste it. Beyond the kitchen, her spirit of service was evident as she dedicated countless hours to her church and community. She embodied the spirit of charity, always ready and able to assist those in need, her acts of kindness a shining reflection of her profound love for humanity.

Throughout her life, Jane exemplified the virtues of faith and family. She found joy in reading her Bible daily, ensuring that her children and grandchildren were imbued with the teachings of the Lord with every opportunity presented. Her convictions fostered an indelible impact upon all who had the fortune to cross her path, as her good deeds and acts of love became guiding principles of unity within her family and community.

Her departure has left a palpable void, yet we celebrate the exemplary life she led—a harmonious symphony of faith, love, and compassion. Jane Valencia’s spirit will forever illuminate our hearts, her memory persisting as a source of inspiration and comfort. As we gather to honor her life, we find solace in knowing that her cherished examples will resonate through generations as she joins her beloved parents Arturo Madrid and Cinda Madrid, her brothers Tommy Madrid, Johnnie Madrid, Arthur Madrid and sister Sylvia Madrid, along with her son David Smith.

Family and friends are invited to commemorate Jane's life during her funeral service on the 17th of July, 2025, at 11:00 AM at The Way, Truth & Life Ministries in Grants, New Mexico led by Danny Almanza. Subsequently, she will be laid to rest in the serene surroundings of Grants Memorial Park Cemetery at 12:00 PM, where her legacy of love shall continue to flourish in the hearts of all who knew her.
