Jane Wood

Jane Wood, age 98, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2026. She was born on April 14, 1928, in Tularosa, New Mexico, and spent her later years in Grants, New Mexico, where she was a cherished member of the community. 

Jane lived a life centered on family, faith, and simple joys. She dedicated herself as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker. Her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and welcome, where family gatherings created lasting memories across generations. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sunny Wood; her daughter, Charlann Payne; her grandson, Corley Payne; and her daughter-in-law, Diane Wood. 

Jane is survived by her son, Hank Wood; her daughter, Janice Wood; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and devotion. As well as many friends.

 In her free time, Jane enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching NASCAR races and football games, and tending to her outdoor garden. She found peace and happiness in the simple pleasures of life and took pride in watching her family grow and thrive. 

Jane graduated from high school and devoted her life to caring for her family as a homemaker. Though her career was within the home, her impact extended far beyond it, shaping the lives of those who knew and loved her. 

Jane Wood will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured and the memories she leaves behind.
