Jose Gonzales

Rosary and Funeral Mass for Jose T. Gonzales 86 of Milan, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-June 10, 2017-9:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial with Military Honors by the VFW Lodge 3221 will take place at the Grants Memorial Park.



Jose was born December 1930 in San Mateo, New Mexico and he passed away on June 6, 2017 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family after a battle with cancer.



Joe as he was referred by, retired from many years working in the uranium industry. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in Germany.



Joe was a smart and creative man, He could do just about anything he set his mind to do. He grew up in San Mateo, New Mexico spending his youth with his father at the Floyd Lee Ranch. He was a great cowboy and horseman. He loved to rope and be around ranching.



Joe loved the outdoors. He spent lots of time hunting and snowmobiling with his sons. He will be greatly missed. He was and will always be loved by all his family and friends.



He is survived by his Loving wife: Carmen; Four children: Olivia Martinez and husband Armando, Joanna Torrez and husband James, Daniel Gonzales and wife Judy, Steve Gonzales; Nine Grandchildren: Jimmy Torrez, Jeremy Torrez, Veronica Lopez, Valerie Martinez, Shelby Gonzales, Delaney Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Justin Gonzales, and Jill Gonzales and Fourteen Great Grandchildren: Brothers: Harry and Eddie Gonzales.



He is preceded in death by his Parents: Alcario Gonzales and Maria Gonzales; Brothers: Benjamin and Daniel Gonzales; Sisters: Christina Strickland, Florence and Adela Gonzales.



Pallbearers will be: Daniel Gonzales, Steve Gonzales, Justin Gonzales, Daniel Gonzales, Jr., Shelby Gonzales, and Delaney Gonzales.



Honorary Pallbearers will be: Sonny Gonzales, Mark Gonzales, Dewayne Gonzales, Joel Bertrand, Rayna Gonzales, Dawn Collom, tommy Simpson, Brandon Strickland, James Torrez, and Armando Martinez.
