Services for Joseph W. "Butch" Swoboda, 82, of Two Rivers, Wisconsin will be held on Saturday-April 8, 2006-4:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary Chapel with full New Mexico State Police Honors. The family will receive friends and relatives from 3:00-4:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.
Mr. Swoboda was born on December 18, 1923 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin and passed away on March 26, 2006 in Two Rivers, Wisconsin.
He was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy aboard the Battleship USS North Carolina for 10 years during World War II and the Korean Conflict. After leaving the Navy, he joined the New Mexico State Police Force and served until 1979 where he retired as Lieutenant. After retirement he moved to Wyoming where he worked with an engineering firm, Cooper and Clark, testing concrete strength. Moved back home to Two Rivers in 1994, where he enjoyed the last 12 years of his life.
Survivors include a daughters: Diantha Swoboda, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Emily and Husband Darwin Page, of Edgewood, New Mexico; Son: Loren and wife Rebecca, of Norfolk, Virginia and their daughter: Desiree, of Edgewood, New Mexico, Son: Joseph W. Swoboda, II of Grants, New Mexico and his sons: Zach and wife Melissa of Grants, New Mexico, Michael Paul of Gallup, New Mexico and Joseph W. Swoboda, III of Grants, New Mexico and two Great Granddaughters: Miya and Caitlin; Long time friend and partner: Viv Boulanger and her family: Ron and Pat Thiel of Point Beach State Park; Dr. Jason Thiel and his wife Dr. Amy Thiel of Maribel, Doug and Dana Roth, of Manitowoc, Dad's Best Friend "Toby", Nieces, Nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Rudolph and Emma Nemitz Swoboda. and brother: Albert Swoboda.
