Juan Maestas

Funeral Mass for Juan Maestas, 75 of Milan, New Mexico will be held on Friday-November 2, 2007-11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Very Rev. Alberto Avella will be the Celebrant. Burial will be held on Friday-November 2, 2007-3:00 PM at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico.



A rosary will be recited on Thursday-November 1, 2007-7:00 PM at Compassion Mortuary.



Mr. Maestas was born on January 5, 1932 in Llano, New Mexico and passed away on October 28, 2007 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He was a Veteran of the US Army and Marines serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the Uranium Mines in Grants for several years and worked for Wal Mart.



He is survived by his wife of 46 years: Maria Adonelia Maestas of Milan, New Mexico; Daughter: Consuelo Maestas and her fiance Arthur Sanchez, Jr. of Grants, New Mexico; one granddaughter: Anjelica Sanchez of Grants, New Mexico; Brother: Lee Maestas and wife Belinda of Grants, New Mexico; Sister: Mae Roybal of Las Cruces, New Mexico; Sister in Law Emma Maestas of Bernalillo, New Mexico, Sadie Quintana and Jose Abel Martinez of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Cecilia Rael of Raton, New Mexico; Brother in Law: Juan O. "Toby" Velasquez and wife Rose of Llano, New Mexico, Manuel Velasquez and wife Mabel of Bosque Farms, New Mexico: God children: Ruben Velasquez, Anna Mae Quintana and Jackie Lucero and several nephews and nieces, and great nephews and nieces.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Juan D. and Corina "Trujillo" Maestas; Brothers: Emerson Maestas and Paul G. Maestas; sister in law Emily Fuller; brother in law Jose N. Rael, Jr.



Pallbearers will be: Joseph Rael, Roger Rael, Emerson Maestas, Carlos Quintana, Charles Maestas and Paul Simon Maestas.



Honorary pallbearers will be: Paul Sanchez, Manuel Velasquez, Manny Velasquez, Martin Sedillo and Juan O. "Toby" Velasquez.
