Memorial services for Susie Tanton Wise, 59,of Grants, New Mexico will be held Saturday, Dec. 5th at 2:00 pm at Grace Baptist Church in Milan.
Susie entered into heaven on Nov. 28 at her home in Grants surrounded by her family.Susie was born in Grapevine, Texas on Oct. 16, 1956 to Robert and Marquita Tanton.
She spent most of her life in Grants.She lived in Oklahoma for a few years and that is where she met and married her soul mate Doug Wise. They've had 19 wonderful years together.Susie has been fighting a long hard battle with cancer. Four times. She was so strong and so courageous. Her faith and her amazingly positive attitude kept her going. She never stopped smiling and laughing and she never complained. She was an inspiration to many that knew her. Truly a unique person. We are going to miss her kind and gentle soul.Susie was a loving wife and mother, a sweet and caring "nana", an awsome aunt and the absolute best sister in the world.
She lost all of her battles with cancer but when she closed her eyes in death and she opened them to Jesus, she knew that she won the war.
She is survived by her husband Doug, her son Jeff McDaugale of Elko, Nev., her brother Rick Tanton of Elko, Nev., her sister Sharon McHenry of Grants, her grandchildren Gabriella, Madallyn and Landon of Elko, Nev., and her "adopted" granddaughter Harley Blount of Grants, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Marquita Tanton, and her beloved dogs Gypsy and Sparky. Everyone is invited to stay for refreshments afterwards
