Funeral Mass for Mary J. Saavedra 80, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Saturday-June 11, 2011-10:00 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Fr. Edwin Byran will be the Celeberant. Full honors by the VFW Lodge 3221.
A rosary will be held on Friday-June 10, 2011-7:00 PM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Mary was born on November 14, 1930 in McGaffey, New Mexico and she passed away on June 7, 2011 in Mesa, Arizona. She was a volunteer for 25 years at St. Vincent DePaul in Grants, New Mexico before she retired.
She is survived by her Grand Children:Rachelle Gauna and husband William of Grants, New Mexico and Brian Pace and wife Alicia of Mesa, Arizona; Great Grandchildren: Shantel Gauna of Las Vegas, Nevada, Brittney Gauna of Grants, New Mexico, Garret Pace of Mesa, Azizona, Kelsey Pace of Mesa, Arizona, Ashley Brown and husband Jason of Mesa, Arizona and Great Great Grandchild: Kaleyah Brown of Mesa, Arizona; Sisters: Prudence Saavedra and husband Pat of Milan, New Mexico, Inez Manning and husband Matias of Grants, New Mexico, Helen Montenegro of Sacramento, California and Nickie Salazar and husband Ross of Rio Rancho, New Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Gilbert Saavedra; Daughter: Sophie Saavedra-Pace; Parents: Inez Jaure and Ciporinitia Salazar; Brothers: Pablo Jaure and Tony Jaure.
Pallbearers will be: Brian Pace, William Gauna, Patrick Saavedra, Garret Pace, Meddie Valdez and Jerry Jaure.
