Services for Michael "Mike" Weigl, Jr. 75 of Gallup, New Mexico will be held on Friday-March 13, 2009-1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Gallup. Pastor Jim Cox will officiate.
Mike was born on January 13, 1934 in House, New Mexico and passed away on March 7, 2009 in Gallup, New Mexico. He graduated from House High School in May 1952. Mike then moved to Gallup in 1954 He served in the US Navy and was employed by El Paso Natural Gas Company for 33 years. He was co-owner of Sutherland Furniture and serviced TV's and appliances in the Gallup are for many years. He enjoyed fishing and playing his harmonicas, and would play at every opportunity presented. He was always ready with a joke or a good story. He loved to make people laugh.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Madeline Weigl of Gallup, New Mexico; Sons: Michael A. Weigl and wife Wendy of Gallup, New Mexico and Kevin L. Weigl and wife Kathy of Gallup, New Mexico; Brother: Robert Weigl and wife Mary of Kenna, New Mexico; Sisters: Elizabeth Sturm of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Katherine Sturm and husband John of Bento, Arkansas, Marie Cline of Hereford, Texas and Magdalena Goldie of El Paso, Texas; 4 Grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Michael Weigl, Sr. and Nellie Weigl; Brothers: George Weigl and Joseph Weigl; Sister: Gertrude Davis.
