Patricia Ann Roberts

September 24, 1936 — January 3, 2026

Bluewater, NM

Patricia Ann Roberts was a beloved wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. She was born September 24, 1936, in Villanueva, NM. She passed peacefully in her home in Bluewater surrounded by her family with her husband at her side. “Pat” lived a long life marked by love, kindness, quick wit and a sharp sense of humor. She grew up in Northern New Mexico and Trinidad, Colorado, moving when her father took different jobs. She came to Grants after graduating from NM Normal Boarding School; she was traveling to California with her friend when her car broke down in Grants and she decided to stay for a while and started working at the Monte Carlo as a bartender. She soon heard that Anaconda was hiring and she quickly got a job, as she could type and do shorthand. She was the highest paid woman in the uranium industry at the time. She was introduced to Eddie Roberts through his cousin Virginia Oldfield (Brown) and they began their somewhat tumultuous dating years. After an ‘on again off again’ relationship Eddie told Pat it was time to stop messing around and get married. Their love story was one for the ages and they are an example for many young married couples to witness what real love looks like. Their love endured many trials and they were resilient throughout their 67 years of marriage. Pat gave Eddie a loving home and had a way of making everything beautiful and welcoming. Eddie’s love for her shined brightest during Pat’s last years of having Alzheimer’s. They were married April 13, 1958, and lived on Flagstaff Avenue for 25 years. Pat worked numerous jobs at Kerr McGee, Anaconda, Atomic Energy Commission where she shared her office with a uranium rock, Grants High School, MSHA and finally the Forest Service where she retired. When Eddie retired, they moved to a small farm out in Bluewater Village in 1984 where they lived for the next 42 years.

Pat was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, auntie and friend. She was known for spoiling her grandkids and great grandkids with love. She was an Elder’s wife in the Grants Church of Christ. Pat was a great cook and always made the most delicious dishes for church potlucks. She was a wonderful friend to Terry, Rhoda, Margaret, her church friends and San Mateo ladies. She learned canning and taught others the love of home canning. She was an avid reader and loved to recommend and share books with others. She was a sports lover and a diehard Cowboy fan. She was known for making her March Madness basketball and MLB brackets with stunning accuracy. She never met a baby she didn’t love and was a grandma to many. She was GG to her great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ephraim Trujillo and Frances Garcia, brother Daniel Trujillo and sisters Theresa Gallegos and JoAnn Trujillo. She is survived by her husband Eddie Roberts, brother Frank Trujillo and sisters Corrine Adams, Rose Marie Apodaca and Esther Vasquez. Daughter Donna Marsing and husband David; son Eddie (Buddy) Roberts II. Grandson Lance and wife Jennifer and great granddaughter Lissete, Granddaughter Vail, great granddaughters Alivia and Mattea, granddaughter Brie Marsing, granddaughter Taylor Hudson and husband Nick. Grandson Joshua Roberts and wife Rikkie, great granddaughter Lexi and great grandson Elijah R and multiple nieces and nephews. A special thanks for the caregivers with Southwest Home Care Shannon, Pam, Vicki, Jeanette, Yolanda, and Christina who cared for and loved Pat over the last several years and in her final days. A special appreciation for Compassus Hospice for all their help and compassionate care.
