Richard Hackney

No public service will be held for Richard B. Hackney cremation has taken place.



Rich was born on November 20, 1946 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Ida Mae and Frank B. Hackney, the second of three children and he passed away on November 5, 2016 in Grants, New Mexico,



He graduated from Grants High School in 1964, He enlisted in the U.S Army and served 2 tours of duty in Viet Nam from 1966 to 1969. During that time he was awarded a Bronze Star as well as numerous other citations. After returning home, here-joined the family business (L & H Steel) Products with his dad and brother, Jon. His attention to detail earned him quite a reputation in the steel fabrication circles in NM.



Rich enjoyed camping with his family & friends and was a Boy Scout Leader for several years.



He is survived by his: Son: Steve hackney and wife Nicollette of Albany, Oregon; Daughter: Rhonda Hegland and husband Eric of Gilbert Arizona; Sister: Vicki Berndt and husband Bob of Richland, Washington; Brother: Jon Hackney and wife Jeanette of Grants, New Mexico; 7 Grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.



He is preceded in death by his Parents: Frank B. Hackney and Ida Mae Hackney.
