He worked in the Uranium Mines for 35 years. Then he was a Correctional Officer at CCA in Grants, New Mexico until he retired. Ruben was a cowboy at heart. His love for Seboyeta Land Grant, New Mexico was unmatched. He loved Vintage Cars, Oldies and Classic Country, it brought him so much happiness. In his early days he enjoyed gardening and wood working.
He loved taking rides which often lead him to Dancing Eagle. In his later years westerns occupied the majority of his free time, but most important to Ruben was the love of his family.
He is survived by his Loving Wife: Marjorie "Sue" Romero; Sons: Michael Romero and wife Mary Frances, Anthony Romero and wife Darla, Ruben J. Romero and wife Noelle; Daughter: Roxanne Maxwell and husband Max; Grandchildren: Sonya Jaramillo and husband Logan, Joshua Romero and wife Chelsi, Arica Dorcey and husband James, Landon Maxwell, James Romero, Payton Maxwell, Destiny Romero, Brett Romero, Bella Romero, Sean Romero; Great Grand Daughters: Remi Romero, Rowan Dorcey; Brothers: Ray Romero and Bertha, Gilbert Romero and wife Marianne; Sisters: Rosalie Gonzales and husband Herman, Eloisa Thompson and Emmitt; Brother-in-law: Tony Baca.
He is preceded in death by his Parents: Antonio Romero and Sophia Romero; Sister: Lynn Baca.
