Sandra Ann Gonzales, beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 10, 2025, in Albuquerque, New Mexico at the age of 62. She was born on October 17, 1962, in Grants, New Mexico, where she brought joy to all those who knew her and fostered a spirit of warmth that will forever remain in the hearts of her family.

At the young age of 18, Sandra embarked on a journey of service, leaving her hometown to join the Job Corps, a step that would pave the way for her bright future. With determination and intellect, she later pursued her education at TVI in Albuquerque, earning her Associate's Degree in Accounting. Her career began at the Federal Government facility in Los Alamos, where she worked for 15 years, followed by a commendable 23-year tenure with the GSA Department in Albuquerque. Throughout her professional life, Sandra was not only respected for her skills but also cherished for her caring nature and her generosity, always ready to lend a hand to others during their times of need.

Sandra's kindhearted spirit was perhaps most evident during the holidays, a time when she relished getting together with her loved ones. Her passion for baking filled homes with warmth and delightful aromas, and her talent for knitting and crocheting created cherished keepsakes for family members. Whether it was the pages of a gripping novel or a visit to the casinos for a touch of luck, Sandra possessed a zest for life that entertained and inspired those around her.

She is survived by her loving sisters, Veronica (Tedd) Gallegos and Lisa Gonzales, both of Grants, NM, and her brother, John Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM. Her legacy lives on through her adoring nieces, Michelle Gallegos of Grants, NM; Sofia Gallegos (Dominic Vigil) of Albuquerque, NM; and great-niece, Angelica Vigil. Her nephew, Levi Ortiz of Grants, NM, also carries the memories of their time together in his heart.

Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ida Gonzales Ortiz, and her stepfather, Manuel Ortiz Jr., both from Grants, NM. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Kelly Ortiz and Gilbert Ortiz, who will be remembered alongside her.

Sandra Ann Gonzales will forever be deeply loved and greatly missed by her entire family, friends, and coworkers. Her spirit of generosity, intelligence, and love for life will continue to resonate in the cherished memories and stories shared by all who were fortunate enough to know her. As we reflect on her life, we celebrate the impact she made, the love she spread, and the laughter that echoed through her presence.
