Celebration of Life for Steve Matkovich, age 66, long-time resident of Grants, NM, will be held on Thursday-May 5, 2022-11:00 AM at the La Ventana.
Steve was born on April 23, 1956 in Grants, New Mexico and he passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 1st, 2022 in Grants, New Mexico.
He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. Many will remember him by his dry sense of humor and being very straightforward and to-the-point. He had a heart of gold and cared deeply for his family and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents, John and Philena Matkovich.
He is survived by his sisters: Marianna Gibson and her husband, Herb; Sue Grant and her husband, Ed; Steph Rivard and her husband, Rich; his nieces; Jayme, Jessye, Anita, Becca, Anna and Sarah and their families; and his nephews: Art and Frank and their families.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
