Timothy W. Sarver Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at the age of 75 in Grants, New Mexico. Born on March 19, 1950, in Roswell, New Mexico, Timothy lived a life dedicated to his family and his career as a Gas and Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic.
Tim’s education began at Gallup High School, where he instilled within himself the values of hard work and perseverance that would guide him throughout his life. He graduated from Del Norte High School in 1969 and pursued further training, graduating from TVI as a mechanic in 1971 and later achieving a degree in Arc Welding in 1977. These accomplishments laid a solid foundation for a career that many admired for its dedication and skill.
Those who knew Tim often remember his fondness for family gatherings, particularly BBQs that fostered laughter and connection. He cherished time spent with his family, imparting lessons and stories while creating heartwarming memories. He is survived by his loving wife, Effa Sarver, who will forever carry the warmth of their shared moments close to her heart. His legacy continues through his sons, Timothy W. Sarver Jr. and Jesse Sarver, and his daughter, Patricia Sarver. Tim was also proud of his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in his heart.
Beyond his family, Tim found joy in the great outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing, and camping, often spending weekends in nature, where he felt most at peace. He had a passion for ranching and reloading ammo, showcasing his hands-on spirit and connection to tradition. Additionally, Tim had a keen eye for photography, finding beauty in the world around him and capturing moments that would turn into cherished memories. He took great delight in watching and feeding the hummingbirds, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
Tim is also survived by his brother, George L. Sarver IV, and his sister, Deborah Blocker, who will carry forward the memories of a wonderful brother. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and George Lewis Sarver Jr., as well as his brother, George L. Sarver III, and sister, Barbara Wilcox; all of whom will be welcomed by him in eternal rest.
Timothy W. Sarver Sr. leaves behind a legacy defined by love, dedication, and a zest for life. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will live on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the memories created.
