Rosary and Funeral Services for Victor Jerome Friedt 79, of Grants, New Mexico will be held on Thursday-March 24, 2011-9:30 AM at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Grants Memorial Park. Edwin Bryan will be the celebrant.



Victor was born on March 4, 1932 in Mott, North Dakota and he went to be with the Lord peacefully at home with his family surrounding him on March 19, 2011 in Grants, New Mexico. He served our country as a member of the US Army in the Korean War and was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2218.



He worked for 21 years in the mining industry and retired in 1985. Victor had a love for polka music, western movies, and the Dallas Cowboys (How 'bout them Cowboys!)



He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Josephine Friedt of Grants, New Mexico; Seven Children: Vicki Friedt of Grants, NM, Allan Friedt of Belen, NM, Pam Friedt of Grants, NM, Debbie Johnson and husband Steve of Albuquerque, NM, Cindy Alires and husband Gary of Grants, NM, Arnie Friedt and wife Joyce of Ute Park, NM and Arnell Friedt and wife Nicole of Rio rancho, NM; Nine Grandchildren: Melissa, Eric, Allan Edward, Justin, Jordan, Dylan, Joshua, Isabella and Alexander; Siblings: Ray Friedt and wife Mary, Bill Friedt and wife Pat, Anne Bergenheier and husband Frank, and Val Friedt and wife Jeanette.



He is preceded in death by his parents: Alex Friedt and Anna Friedt; Son: Arlan Friedt; Grandson Arlan Lee; Brothers: Jake Friedt, Joe Friedt, Tony Friedt, Alex Friedt, Adam Friedt and Valentine Friedt: Sisters: Matilda Friedt and Marie Friedt.
