1944-2023



Wallace Albert Begay, a resident of Casa Blanca, NM, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 in the home in which he was born on Aug 15, 1944. Mr. Begay was a graduate of UNM and retired after serving 30 years in the US Navy. He was a great asset in his community and in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife, Willa Francis Begay; 3 children: Emery Arthur, Colleen (Pete) Acevedo, & Colin Anaya; 4 Grandchildren: Zachary Villanueva, Gabriel Loera, Alyssa Acevedo, & Tristen Vara; and 1 Great-Granddaughter, Thalia Villanueva; a brother, Michael Begay and a sister, Juanita (Larry) Bufonda; 5 Stepchildren, 30 step-grandchildren, & 34 Step-great-Grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Wallace is predeceased by his parents, James H. Begay & Irene Pedro Begay; 2 brothers, Delfino Begay & Valentino Begay; & a daughter, Melanie Allen.



His funeral will be held at 9am on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Budville, NM, and he will be buried in the Santa Fe National Cemetery @ 2:30pm that same day. There will be a memorial potluck dinner at the Paraje Community Center@ 6pm that evening.
