William VanCamp, a devoted uranium miner and man of profound faith, passed away on May 19, 2026, in Grants, New Mexico. Born on July 4, 1935, in Tucson, Arizona, William lived a life marked by unwavering dedication to both his work and his spiritual calling.
Throughout his career as a uranium miner, William was respected for his hardworking nature and steadfast character. However, those who knew him well remember him most vividly for his sharp sarcastic wit and the uniquely affectionate nicknames he bestowed upon those closest to him. His willingness to speak his mind candidly was a hallmark of his personality, one that endeared him to many and established his reputation among friends and family alike.
William’s passion extended beyond his profession into a deeply held religious commitment. He held an intense enthusiasm for serving God and preaching the Gospel, a devotion that shaped much of his life’s purpose. This fervent faith was not only a personal cornerstone but also a guiding force in his relationships and community involvement.
He is survived by a loving family who carried his legacy forward. His son Curt, along with his wife Carmen, his sons Shawn and Cody, and Cody’s wife Johnna, continue to cherish his memory. His daughter Amber remains close in heart and spirit. William took great pride in his grandchildren—Samantha, Dillon, Conrad, Jauslyne, Cade, and Emma—and his great-grandchildren: Cora, Darla, George, and Mercy, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his later years. His sister, Diana Moutray and brother Don VanCamp also survives him.
William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lois VanCamp, his parents Velma and Fred, and his brothers Chuck, Norman, and Dean. Their memories are treasured by those who carry on his story.
A memorial service will be held to honor William’s life and legacy on June 20, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 19 Rodeo Ground Rd, Grants, NM 87020, United States. This gathering will be a heartfelt occasion to celebrate a man whose life was distinguished by honest expression, devoted service, and enduring love.
William VanCamp’s passage leaves a profound void among those who knew him, yet his spirit endures through the lives he touched with his humor, sincerity, and devout faith. His memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know this remarkable man.
